Steam for mac
Glad to see that Steam for mac is finally available. It’s been too long without games, in particular because I’ve been using macs for the past few years, and my old PC finally became too slow to keep up, and anyway, there’s not enouhg space to keep a dedicated gaming machine going.
On the other hand, not playing has left a huge gap. In my opinion, gaming is a huge plus, as it not only helps you take your mind off everyday life, but also has plenty other benefits, such as training your brain (really), or even social bonus, in case you like to hook up with others. I really do miss it.
Anyway, it’s now time to add Steam to my iMac and try out Half Life 2- I do hope it is at least as good as it used to be years ago, and I guess that is not too much to ask?
Mac Battery Mystery
This one totally beats me. After two years’ worth of abuse, my laptop battery was down to this:

A measly catastrophic 32% capacity resulting in an effective use tim of approximately half an hour. Then, something unforeseen must have happened, as capacity has jumped up again:

I didn’t tweak anything, honestly. So,. whilst this lasts, I’ll accept the circumstances and not purchase a new batterx like I intended to.
I’m using a 15″ MacBook Pro, and the battery app is Coconut Battery.
State of your mac battery: coconutBattery
Another genius little programme: coconutBattery. Would you like to know how your laptop battery is doing? Well it certainly helped my nagging uncertainty and confirmed what I thought: I’m just doing OK, but not for long. Oh, and my MacBookPro is 19 months old. Crashed? perhaps 4-5 times.
