Back to video. Nice.

Oats Slime?

It’s all about marketing. The kiddies love their porridge in the morning, which is nothing else than oats warmed up in milk, with some cinnamon and brown sugar. Add a splash of maple syrup. Sounds nice? Well in this country they’ve named it Haferschleim, or Oats Slime. No wonder it’s not a raging success. It’d be interesting to look back in history and see who screwed up – perhaps a clever scheme by someone of the likes of Corn Flakes? Suppose we’ll never know. Oats Slime. mmm.

Octopus

Octopus on Vimeo.

Here’s a small but long overdue exercise. This time, less active work with the camera but rather focus play, movement from the subject and trains. Initially I thought to make it black and white, but left the colour as all things train related are a strong contrast to autumny washed out scenes (or something like that).

As for the story, it only developed as the editing went along, and I’m not sure about what it is anyway. I think the little girl wants her octopus to take the train, but what does it mean?

High Tatra

Heading back from Nowy Sacz in Poland, the trip took me past the High Tatra Mountains in northern Slovakia. What an amazing sight! The cloud cover broke and revealed this magnificent sight. The psychological underline, as it were, is the knowlege that the place is populated by bears and wolves. Nice to be sitting in a car, but people carrying wood on their backs by the roadside seemed not to be bothered :)
