Time management, not

This leaflet advertises a vast collection of tips and tricks to help you becoming more efficient by managing your work in a new, better and generally more clever way.

If you order this, you get a “database” gadget to keep all of your contacts. Thing is, it’s one of those that don’t have an interface, in other words, you’ll have to spend hours punching in your contacts. Oh, and no backup. Time management, my arse.

Lucky Lock

Lost this lock a few days ago, someone found it and placed it on this sign. A bit of luck once on a while is a nice thing :)

Welcome to Germany

First impressions matter, whether when you meet somebody or you come to a new country. As for Munich airport, just before you go through customs, there’s a load of impossible-to-miss-stuck-on-the-wall flyers asking for help in solving a multiple murder case involving Turkish and Greek citizens.

And you thought it was all about beers and pretzels.

Anti-Abortionist

This is the first time I’ve experienced an aborted takeoff. About ten to fifteen seconds into acceleration, the pilot slammed on the the brakes and swerved off runway 27L at Heathrow.

The plane went really quiet as we taxied to some parking position, where we were informed that some warning light for cabin pressurisation had come on. It took about an hour to reboot the computer and after that everything was OK.

Although this problably happens all the time and it’s nothing special and Lufthansa is one of the more trustworthy airlines, this was still an unsettling experience. The following proper and successful takeoff was somewhat more subdued in terms of cabin noise level.
