Crack this one: Mobile Radiation Fallacy
If the average distance between mobile network masts was (much) larger than now, then handset transmitting power levels would have to be increased in order to compensate. So far, so good.
Does this mean that, if a petition to have mobile network masts removed from residential areas was successful, the present radiation levels would simply be shifted from peaks around current masts to a more even distribution and closer to people's heads?
Would the average exposure to radiation become more - since every handset would emit stronger levels than before - rather than less?
I guess the only solution would be to get rid of mobiles altogether, but I should think this is not a viable option even for the organisers of the petition.
