No Future for The Feature
Sadly, The Feature is no more. To me, it was a prime resource for all things "mobile". An impressive line-up of writers, plenty of interesting, relevant and forward-looking information.
I've always been intrigued by the concept since it was run by Nokia but very much left alone to thrive. My hunch was that Nokia, in creating a top-notch industry platform, would somehow benefit from the information generated.
The (business) goals must have been missed - or the platform seen as an unnecessary cost-centre - and the decision was made to shut down The Feature. The final message reads: "We're really successful but we're shutting down because we're not needed anymore". I disagree with the last part, but that's just me.
I'll really miss it, but I am pleased to see that Carlo Longino will be joining Russell over at MobHappy. Great!
